What a wonderful film! A thought-provoking exploration of constraint, and also revision and admiration and inspiration and perspective and style and film as a medium, and on and on.
I watched it on Netflix – I came upon it rather by accident – but I’m amazed to see that it’s also on hulu.
An excellent little excerpt:
Lars (frustrated): “I’d like to achieve that feeling of a tortoise on its back.”
Jorgen (inspired): “Yes. ‘Tortoise.’ I’ll write it down.”
Lars: “The trouble is you’re so clever that whatever I say inspires you.”
Jorgen: “Yes, I can’t help it.”
